In the wake of the pandemic, the conditions for poverty have only increased among the world’s most vulnerable. Rising desperation has led to an increase in migrant workers being subjected to worse conditions and denied rights and fair wages, as well as boosted the number of women trafficked for sex or domestic work.  

Despite the background of South Asian infrastructure, these migrant worker families, who travel hundreds of miles to find insecure labour work, frequently fall through the cracks of the system. Without support, their suffering remains invisible to others.  

Karuna is working alongside these excluded communities to urgently address this widespread issue and provide support and resources to at-risk migrant workers and women at risk of trafficking.
